{{ mizuki }} Geocaching and Momotaro

0 megjegyzés
Hello,

Yesterday (01.30.) we went for a little geocaching with Nyekk and Padi. It was Nyekk's and my first time, so it was really exciting!
We decided to bring with us some koordinates to choose from. We started near to my house, a place called Orczy park. Padi said it has 3 caches, only one of them is real, and it contains hints to the other 2.
While wandering we found a place, which is for kids to practice the rules of the roads. I remember cycling there when I was smaller. The funny thing is, it got a little gas station :D

/Nyekk ran out of gas.../

After that, we saw this little wooden house on the top of a tree. I don't think anyone would have the curage to climb up there, but you can never know...

Near to that house Padi found the geo-cache. We opened it to see what's inside ^^ Look:

The little notebook is for leaving a note there for the future geocachers, and you can take a treasure if you leave something else for exchange. We didn't took anything, but left this in the logbook:

2009.01.30.
山図市 - みつけた

I wrote this to the other logbooks as well. I wonder if the next cachers think we were Japanese....

After that, Nyekk had a little shefting.... exchanging mobiles :) He got a really cute Blackberry ^^ I hope he is happy with it now :P So we had to head from Pest to Buda (to be more specific, to Obuda, which is a bit further). I haven't had much for breakfast, and Nyekk told me the day before that he would treat me with ramen to celebrate that I got my major :) so we went to the Momotaro Restaurant.

Yeah.. if you don't know in Japanese, the three kanji says: Momotarou :)
'Momotaro' is a famous Japanese "fairy"tale. I'm reading it right now, because I got a bilingual picture book from the library (Japanese - English).... it is really for Japanese kids, but it's fun to read. I got 'Grandfather cherry blossom' too.

All three of us ate different ramen:
o Nyekk - Momotaro ramen
o Padi - Spicy and sour ramen
o mizuki - Chiken ramen

Chicken ramen looked like this:

It was so delicious I could cry (do I sound like Shinta-san from Teppan shoujo Akane?!). Thank you Nyekk for treating me ^^

Eating ramen there is not so easy you would think...... the bowl is so huge, it takes an hour to eat it, then you feel like you have rocks in your stomack. So I felt like going home and rest all day. But the others got me to go to the Margaret island to continue the geocaching.

/we should play in the next Power Rangers series.../

On the Margaret island, we had fun at a ruin. Padi jumped here and there, we felt like he could use the power from the PSP game 'Crush'. Nyekk felt like startle me, which you can see on the video. Yeah.. sorry we spoke in Hungarian and I feel like speaking random Japanese sometimes.
For those who are not familiar with the language, here is a little dictionary:
o matte - wait (chotto matte - wait a little)
o hidoi - you evil Nyekk, you scared the **** out of me.... (actually it means someone is evil/bad)
o daijyoubu? - are you alright?
o konaide - don't come
o nagai video - long video
o baka - stupid
For those who are not familiar with the Hungarian language, we were talking about how Padi could use the Crush and that it would be funny for me to fell down from the wall while taking the video...

So we had a lot of fun, try geocaching out if you have to many freetime, it's great.
Sorry Nyekk.. I thought of giving you the chance to write half of this post, but then the wave got me. (but you can write about the nostalgie movie watching thing :D).

Sorry for the long post.... but I hope you like it.

PS: Oh and Nyekk found this kinda funny thing on the bus. BKV is the travelling company in Budapest, and they changed their logos. Now if you look really close.... doesn't that subway ikon looks like you are travelling by portal? (Portal is a famous Valve game, where you have a start-point portal gate and an end-point one. The gates look like an oval ring :))

{{ mizuki }} Major and Japanese

0 megjegyzés
Hello :)

I've been waiting for the school to decide if I can go to my choosen major or not for nearly 2 weeks.
And a few minutes ago I got the result.

I got in ^^ my major will be IT Security, which was my favourite subject in the begining of this university.

I'm soooo happy, yet sad at the same time.

Because my major's subjects are all on Monday. And my Japanese course is on Monday as well. That means I can't go to the course to learn the language. I have the course until March. Then another course will start.

I don't really know what to do. It seems that I have no other choice but to join to Saturday's class until March to finish this course.
About what happens after March, I have no idea. It would make my days really awful, if I couldn't go to Japanese course. Because it's not only learning the language, but to stay beside my best friend.

Now I have to think what to do about it.

Nee, Nyekk oniichan... don't be sad about this. We will figure out something..

{{ mizuki }} Floating island recipe

0 megjegyzés
Hello,

My Mom and I made a very delicious dessert today. Nyekk asked me to put the recipe up here, so here it is :)
It's name is officially 'floating island'! It's a European sweet, and Hungarian people likes it too. It's name is "madártej" in Hungarian, it means "bird's milk".
First, you can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floating_island_(dessert)

So, the recipe:
You will need (for 4 people):

1,5 litre milk
6 eggs
15 dkg sugar
flour
vanilla
salt

Beat egg whites with 5dkg sugar until stiff.

Boil milk. Drop tablespoonsful of egg whites into boiling milk. Turn on other side after a few seconds. They should look like little clouds. Take out the boiled clouds and place in a flat dish. Continue this until all whites are used.

Make a mix with the egg yolks with the rest of the sugar and a little vanilla arome, put a pinch of salt in it too. Boil the milk. Add a little milk to the yolk mixture then put it to boiling milk and cook for one minute. Cool it down in the fridge. When it's cold enough, put the clouds on top of it and serve it :) I put a little cocoa on the top of it to look good.

It's sooooooooooo delicious, you have to try it! Don't worry if the clouds don't look good. It's the hardest part I think.

But he's gonna be fine and he gots special care from us.

Hope you are fine too :)
We are looking forward to the detective game day :P

<< Nyekk >> Carcassonne party

Hi 皆さん!

It's me again, today I got the results of my last exam, I passed, so now I'm happy, and as of now, I'm free of school.

On my exam day, we held a Carcassonne party at school :P (You can read about this game is Mizu's post further down.)

The carcassonne team, with the massive amounts of snacks showing

We brought snacks (ok, I didn't, but in exchange I didn't eat much ^^;;) and all the extensions we have. It took a little time figuring out some of the rule, and there were some of them we couldn't figure out from the available printed material. For example, the "Count of carcassonne" wasn't that clear, so we leaved it out of the game, but Mizu insisted, that we should lay down his castle on the table, because it looks good :D

The first match took abou 2 and a half hours, with occasional stops for rule interpretation and washroom :P At the end, the results turned out that it was a tie winning between Padi and me, thanks to the "King and robbery knight" extension ^_^

The map of the first match, with some "table extensions" ^^

After the match, everybody was hungry, so we went to eat chinese. From the second match, we left out the extensions that could remove followers from the map. It turned out a different game with and without them. But either way, it was fun, we had a great time! Looking forward to the next time :P

Happy carcassonnists :P

Mizuki also got a detective board game for her upcoming birthday, and I recently bought Cluedo, so we will hold a "Detective day" too, somewhere in the near future :)

<< Nyekk >> Iceskating

0 megjegyzés
Hi 皆さん!

I'm at home now, and as the weather is cold, everything is frozen outside. There is a nearby shallow pond, that is completly frozen to the bottom. So it's a great opportunity to do some free iceskating!

The ice was good, there were a lot of people, and it was fun. At first, i was a little unstable, as the last time I skated was ages ago. But later I managed to catch the hang of it, and slided away ^^ Of course I fell a few times, but that's in the game, and it didn't hurt much. My brother and his kids were also there with us, and we played catch.

My brothers daughter and me doing circles

All in all, it was good a time, but now I'm a little tired, and hungry ^^;;;

Ps.: I, too, look forward to see the Always movie in a real cinema, it's like a dream come true. I already enjoyed it when we watched it on a projector, in the summer camp. But this time, it will be waaaaay bigger ^_______^
Ps.2: I have the last exam tomorrow wednesday (somehow I wrote tomorrow lol), so I have to 勉強!がんばります!

Mata ne,
Nyekk

{{ mizuki }} ALWAYS 三丁目の夕日

0 megjegyzés
Hey,

I had my exam, now waiting for the results. I hope it went well :S Around halfway I felt really bad, I even thought of leaving, but I somehow win against myself and managed to finish my essay. Shiken no kamisama, tasukete kudasai!!!

We went to a presentation today with Nyekk and Padi, we learned about onsens :) We got to know, that both Hungary and Japan are in the top 5 country with lot of spa, also the differences in spa culture.
The presentation itself was really entertaining and funny, I'm glad I went.

It was held in the Japanese Foundation's library (where we can rent books and ready magazines, all in Japanese ^-^V), so after it, we checked out the new magazines and stuff.

The huge thing is, why I decided to write a diary today happened before we checked the magazines.
Being able to watch Japanese movies in Hungary (mostly with Japanese dubs and English subs) can be thanked to the Japanese Foundation. Every months, they provide movies, some of them you can watch for free as well.

So I watched what could we watch the next few months, and there it was:

ALWAYS 三丁目の夕日
02.14.

On Valentine's day!!!!! We can watch ALWAYS in the CINEMA!!!!! (underline it twice more) Isn't it wonderful???? It's like a dream of mine came true :D
I think I remember right when I say, ALWAYS was the first Japanese movie I ever watched, just because Horikita Maki played in it, and instantly, it became my favourite movie of all time.

Ah, and finally I got my hand on 'Memoirs of a teenage amnesiac' by Gabrielle Zevin.... actually I gave it to my Mom right after I bought it (I got it for Christmas btw from my Mom, but I went to buy it :D), but told her to hide it, because I knew it would be too addictive for me to stop, and I had to study. Now that I am reading it, I think it was a good idea not to start it when I was still learning :D

Why this book? Again... a connection with Horikita Maki. There is a Japanese adaptation of this book, with an American director, where Maki plays the heroine, Naomi, and Matsuyama Kenichi (Death Note movie) is another key figure in it. Also I was always interested in the topic - amnesia - so this book is like a 'you-have-to-read-it-you-have-to' book for me. And I really enjoy it very much ^^ Also.. since the main characters are already choosen (Naomi's best friend will be played by Tegoshi Yuya), I can imagine the characters from the book. Anyway... the cast is well chosen I think, I feel like this gonna be a really great movie ^^ Title is: Nakushita Kioku.

Hm... other things. I got addicted to the ending song of One Piece and the Valve game Portal. I think I will try to play it, it looks fun ^^

hope you are all okey! It's extremelly cold in Budapest right now.

PS: if there was a machine that counts your words and gives the most frequently used word as a result... in my case the result would be "really", don't you think?

{{ mizuki }} Carcassonne

2 megjegyzés
Hi :)

I just can't focus on studying and the fact that Nyekk is taking a bath now makes me mad, because I can't blame him (inside me) for not letting me concentrate. No.. just joking :P

So I decided to write about this game. Carcassonne is the best boardgame I ever played.
You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carcassonne_(board_game)

(the basic boardgame with extension River)

We first played with it at the summer camp. On the last day we played with it all night till we were so exhausted we couldn't play any longer.

Soon after we got home, we searched for a version that we can play on the PC, and found this very nice game: http://www.carcassonne-online.com/downloads.shtml

(our play in the pc game, Nyekk is yellow, I am green, but I didn't have figures on this place) by Nyekk

We still play with this version, but it's not the same :) since Carcassonne is a game of strategy and it has tiles, the thing that makes it fun for me is that I can talk with my friends while playing, watch their expressions. And it has a different feeling to actually hold the tiles, instead of just clicking with the mouse.

So around Christmas, when my mom asked what I wanted, I said Carcassonne. So did Nyekk ^^ So now we have the game and some extensions, and we plan to do a Carcassonne party at the school (for ourselves and our friends who are interested) to celebrate the end of the exam season :)

So if you can, try this wonderful game out :)

<mizuu> if you sum these what do you get?
<mizuu> = can't concentrate :D

(I couldn't resist watching communitychannel's video log on youtube. Also, KTShy's comics make my sick days better. Check them out if you want to laugh ^^)

{{ mizuki }} exams and ramen

0 megjegyzés
Hello,

We are trying to apply to our subjects for the next semester at school. Every semester it's the worst thing to do (beside applying to exams), because the website is slow, and we always get kicked out. So far I managed to apply for 3 classes, but Nyekk was not that lucky :((((
So while waiting, I have a little time to post here.

I happily inform you, that I passed my big exam ^^ so now I can finally choose my major at the uni.

I feel like an adult now :D speaking of adults... today is Coming-of-age day at Japan, so I wish a happy day for everyone, who turned 20 at the last year :)

And, one nice thing, that we finally got to taste the real ramen soup ^^ We decided, that if I pass my exam, we will eat at a japanese restaurant called "Momotarou". And since I passed, we went there last week :) It was not cheap, but really really tasty ^^

We watched "Summer Snow" at New Year's Eve. It was really good.... till the end of the last episode :( I wish they wouldn't end it like that. But I recommend this drama, no matter what.
I watched "Beach Boys" while waiting for the results of the big exam. I liked it ^^ Takenouchi Yutaka rocks!!!
Soshite.. we are watching "One Piece" at the moment :) it's very entertaining ^^

I have one exam left, after that I'll be free again :)

And lastly some sad news... that there are no news on Cooper. :( I just wish that he is happy where he is now.

Now, get back to fight with the subjects.
