{{ Pheebs }} New Year's Resolutions for 2012

0 megjegyzés

Heya!

So, my resolutions. Let me see.

- spend 9-10 days in Scotland (planning is already in progress though)

- keep up with running, loose weight

- learn more about psychology

- keep my friends

- stay silly

- stay alive... you know, it's 2012 afterall... besides, if I ever get to revise my promises this time next year, I'm already there. and i will sing something along the lines: this was a triumph, I'm making a note here: huge success...

- keep a watchlist of the movies I watched/am watching/will watch (right now i only have one on imdb, that helps me keep track of what i want to watch, but it keeps changing whenever i can cross something out)

- move out

That's all folks... that is if there is someone still reading this. If not then that's all future myself.

Happy New Year

Oh, and btw, I don't care if it gets old, but my new year's resolution is 1366 x 768 [insert trollface here]

{{ Pheebs }} Promises for 2011 - revised

0 megjegyzés

Yea, it's that time of the year again. So let's go through my promises from the end of 2010:

- go on a 1 week long tour around Ireland with my parents by car/or anything else

I'm such an overachiever... really. So we went on a 9 days long adventure to Ireland with my family. We saw Dublin, Galway, the Aran islands, Cork, Limerick. As for the car/or anything else part, we rented a car over there. Not only we did see Ireland, mom and I got so excited about spending time abroad, we went to the UK together not so much later. Our time in Winchester and London was quite fantastic. Later this year we decided to spend more time in London because the last time it was kind of a rush... so we picked up dad (against his will) and went to spend a week in London. So yea... it was a busy year :D and I already booked the hotel for next year's adventure in Scotland (Edinburgh and Glasgow, here we come).

- boyfriend

This is a tough one. I think I will just say here that I had one, no I don't. Hope that's enough for you.

- Swindon

Remains a plan for the next years.

- strengthen my English speaking skills/vocab/learn more idioms

I took classes, provided by the company I'm working at. But I think the 3 trips I had this year did more than the classes.

- driver licence

Ehhhehe.. laterz.

- learn how to make a pizza

I did recieved a good recipe from my friend, but I have to admit, I forgot about this one :D

- convince my friends to go to cinema together more often

I went a lot, just not with my friends. I wish we would go more though. I like it. Watching am versions or waiting for the DVD to come out is not so much fun.

- learn at least 3 new songs on piano

I failed this one :( I have an app on my iPad that I can use to buy piano scores. I bought 3 scores, but have yet to learn them. I feel ashamed, I'm sorry (TT . TT)

- with the help of Nyekk, create the Great e-Library

The Great e-Library is.. well, it's half done :D halfway I realized that it is usable the way it is now, so there was no need for me to continue.

- play squash at least 2 times a week

Failed it. I either did not have a partner or the time. I started running a few weeks ago though. It seems fun, so I hope to keep up the 3/4-times-a-week plan with the bravest mom on Earth :)

- learn how to save up money (the Ireland tour will be a good lesson...) +1 stay silly as always :)

I realize now that this sentence is complete rubbish.. Putting money aside for traveling turned out to be the complete opposite of saving money up. You see it was usually like this: Oh, look I got my salary.. let's go somewhere. And in the next couple of months: ok, my salary arrived, now I can buy the flight tickets/book the hotel rooms/transportation etc. When we were not traveling somewhere, I have to admit I gave every money I have to Apple. 'cause this year I bought an iPhone 4, an iPad and a macbook air. I'm terrible, I know. Nevermind, it's the end of the world next year, so if we survive and 2013 does come, I will start saving up :P

Next year's promises coming tomorrow.

see ya

{{ Pheebs }} Chouch to 5K

1 megjegyzés
Hi there,

Yeah.. I know. It's been ages since I left a footprint here, I just didn't feel I had anything to say.
I mostly worked or watched tv shows (or tv serieses whichever you like) from the US, so there hasn't been much going on with my life.

One day I woke up and carelessly passed the scale.. and I stepped on it by accident. Then I just wanted to see what my toes looked like and I accidentally looked at the numbers the scale showed. And then I paniced. Is that real? Ok, where are the cameras. I can't weight that much, that can't be me.

So I then took my time to think through my options, which were along the lines:
- play squash -> expensive if you do it more then 2x a week
- go to the gym -> expensive and boring if you do it more then 2x a week

So I got away with this excuse for about a month. Then I realized that it can't just go on like this forever. That was when I went to the Margaret Island to take part in a company training... and we nearly missed the bus on our way back to Nyugati railway station... so we had to run.

We only ran like 10 seconds, but it felt good. I felt refreshed... and tired... after 10 seconds. lol

So I decided to run for.. well.. for run :D
The goal is to lose about 10kg until summer, the first milestone I chose is 5K (2 miles) in 8 weeks. So this means that by the end of the 8th week I should be able to run for 30 minutes continuously.

So this is how I wish to turn from this:

To this:
Ok ok, I will decide what I want to turn into later :D

But (yes, there is always a but), I'm still sick with cold :D so the masterplan will have to wait until next week, possibly Tuesday. But then. World, here I come.

I do need a bit of support here to not give up this plan. As they say, your first 2 miles are the hardest. So please cross your fingers for 2 seconds for my sake :) thanks

Cheers

<< Nyekk >> It's been a while

Hiii! It's been a while! Doh, the title just said that. So it's been a while since I wrote here.

In this while, I was like mastering the art of positive attitude! First I was like "it's easy", but then I was like "wtf". So I mastered negative attitude instead, it was a lot easier. The only problem with it was it's mostly incompatible with the thing called normal life. So what should I do! Then I found just the perfect thing for me, the CCL life perception. It's cheap and easy to install, you can also get it if you call 0800-123-OMFG-456 now, you can get TWO! Since I Couldn't Care Less, leaves are greener, pebbles are pebbler and puddles are wetter. So everything is better! :D

It's also been a while since I watched some anime. Since nowdays a lot of my work occurs by the time I'm home in the evening. So I thought: what the hell, I will take free time of at work then! :D So I saw this series accidentally while searching for some PHP related stuff (highly coincidental, huh?). It's called Hourou Musuko.
First thing first, the art is so beautiful, it's also so my type, so I so had to watch this! And the music is also nice, and the setting is also school,...and..and! It's got some previews around the net that notes it's about a xdressing boy and an xdressing girl elementary school. Nice one. But it's not your typical nowadays anime with all the skin and boobs and dafuck, it's just nice and slow and about elementary schoolers' relations and discovering the paths of life.
I'm happily watching 1-2 eps while taking breaks in the 'beforenoon' :P

BTW, you know what you call a thing when Mike Rowe gets so dirty in dirty jobs so he becomes a ghoul and starts consuming human flesh at graveyards?...it's Mikerém! (Haha about 2 people will get that!)

Andrea Corr Album Sampler by Andrea Corr

{{ mizuki }} I might be slightly mad but...

... I just bought this online.
This is the Deluxe version of Andrea Corr's new album (out at the end of May). It has fan goodies too:

- The full length album and the dvd of exclusive performances, interviews, behind the scenes, promo video and gallery in unique sleeves.

- 20 page colour booklet with sleevenotes from Andrea

- Set of 4 postcards

- Deluxe hardbox outer, numbered

- Instant grat track received upon order (it was 'From the morning').

Why is this deluxe version special? Well, there is going to be a total of 650 copies of it worldwide!!

I have been a fan of The Corrs for more than 10 years now, and I always adored Andrea's voice.
To be honest I started liking Ireland because of the Corrs to begin with. And my dream of visiting Ireland will come true in the same month as I'm going to visit Ireland with my Mom and Dad this May (6th-15th). I think I'm going to think of this album as a souvenir... a slightly expensive souvenir if you like.

PS. Tomorrow is Saint Patrick's day.. which is not only an Irish holiday, but our 3rd year anniversary of learning Japanese with Nyekk :)

{{ mizuki }} I'm a rabbit alright

0 megjegyzés
Hey,

A friend of my recently suggested to read The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. The book itself is really interesting, but the thing that fascinates me the most is that in the world Pullman created, every person has a so called dæmon. A dæmon is a a manifestation of a person's soul.. just imagine an animal form, that is constantly with you. So you are never alone, there is always someone who completely understands you and your feelings. A companion that helps you through everything.

So I've been wondering what my dæmon would look like, what kind of animal would it be, and found these tests online that you can fill out and get an answer. Those two I picked were focusing on your own personality... so basically on what animal would you be.

Both of these tests showed the same result: a rabbit.
Which is funny why exactly? 'cause my chinese zodiac is also the rabbit :D and 2011 is the year of the rabbit. :D

Your result for The Golden Compass Daemon Test ...

Shy Loving Soul

You are a sensitive and shy person. You want to be loved and liked, but you don't think people actually like you very much, and that hurts to think about. You like to be with your family and friends, who care about you. When you are with them, you can open up and talk and be yourself. Among strangers, however, you are nervous and tend to clam up. People are often surprised at how talkative you can be once they get to know you, because you appear to be so quiet and bland at first. You hide your feelings from people whom you do not know well, because you don't know if you can trust them. With your loved ones you can be more yourself.

Your feelings are easily hurt, and you tend to be easily embarassed. You are sensitive, and your loved ones may even tease you about being a little TOO sensitive at times. When your feelings are hurt, you don't always let on. You don't like confrontations, and you are not the sort of person to throw a melodramatic hissy fit. You just tend to fret over it for a few days, until eventually the misunderstanding is cleared up, or time heals the wound.

Your daemon would represent your shyness and sensitivity, and your love of family, and your tendency to hide your feelings from strangers. He or She would probably hide in your pocket or sit on your shoulder where he/she would whisper comfort into your ear.

Suggested forms: Rabbit, Dormouse, Dik-dik, Sighthound
